One problem with no health care plan is that poorer people who are sick or hurt use emergency rooms, don't get preventive medicine and cost the system dearly this way. Another problem is just sheer greed, the private sector controlling things and gouging profits. I am a capitalist but privatizing the health care system has led to disaster. A few get rich and the people not only pay a lot but dont get very good care. It is a real crisis. The medical sector has been averaging 15% inflation a year in a zero inflation environment.

Bush will not change anything. In fact he wants to make it worse by shoving more seniors into HMO's. Bottomline, HMO's take about a 15% profit for their beaurocracy while the government takes about 4%. And HMO's do not do things better, as the prevailing wisdom used to be.
