I have promised to retrieve my wife from the Metro, given that it is wet and wild outside. I may peek in later, but if not, I will try to do so tomorrow so as not to leave all messages hanging.......

There's a great line in persuasion, where Anne is talking to Captain Denny (if I recall his name right) and she is talking about the constancy of women (speaking, of course, about herself, really) and she is talking about the purview of women being that "of loving longest after all hope is lost" and Captain Denny says that he never opened a book that didn't have something to say about the fickleness of women. And Anne says "but those were all written by men."

Stereotypes.

They sometimes work, but you need to understand where they come from, and why people believe them. imo
