Neither Democrats nor Republicans can escape the "mean-spirited" charge nowadays.

Gina, I have come to the conclusion that it is the media's fault. Specifically, Cable news with it's 24/7 news cycle. They want controversy, and are constantly "trolling" for it. You quote one politicians sharp comment, and then ask the opposition for an answer. It builds from there.

Look at Dean. He gets the face time on the media because he is the strongest in his statements.

Of couse, the Liberals are worse than the Conservatives. :>)

No outside "bid" to remake the Middle East will succeed, short of complete military domination.

The fastest solution is to inform all parties in this centuries-old blood feud that the US is leaving, they must resolve their own problems, and we'll be happy to be honest brokers, not military occupiers.

That is the only possible solution to these blood feuds, which we have no right to choose sides or be involved in.
