It's simply because one requires a workaround and the other doesn't. Something that doesn't require a workaround is inherently better than something that does.

I am assuming choice in determining which is the rule, which the exception. Clearly, if there are workarounds, it is tolerable for it to be the rule. But if we are comparing advantages, and making the rule/exception determination, the advantage is with that which does not require workarounds, and therefore it is what should be chosen as the rule.....
