Too bad Mr. Saunders didn't read this thread prior to the war. He would have been exposed to some different "expectations". OTOH, maybe a little history would have helped. This isn't the first time that occupiers of Islamic lands have been greeted with explosives. Of course, if you have a strong predisposition toward a certain set of beliefs, and you have some group (Chalabi et al), that for their own reasons are feeding those predispositions, "expect" surprises.
