I cannot provide the link, but I was reading recently that even if the Canadians run a natural gas pipeline down from the MacKenzie [sp?] delta, much of the gas would be consumed in the Athabasca tar sands projects (making steam to mine the tar sands in situ).

I don't think I will dump my NG Canroys any time soon. Also, have just spent $7,500 that I may not live to recover, on a highly efficient new gas boiler (steam heat). But with bank savings rates at 1% or less, the tax-free savings on heating are better than money in the bank.
