Advance Bookings Highest Ever

Analysts indicated that order books are still filling at companies under their coverage. In fact, the index climbed to the highest level in its admittedly short 8-month history. Bookings noticeably improved in technology, industrials, and materials. Even hitherto capacity-plagued areas are beginning to bottom out; for example, Morgan Stanley technology analyst Steven Pelayo noted that better overall electronics demand is driving increased order activity for semiconductor capital equipment.
