Depending upon the "joint plan of action", this may destroy the "relative" calm of the Kurdish enclave. I say relative because of the recent bombing.

If this is widely seen as a betrayal of the Kurds, who will trust the US? Does anyone in this Admin know any history? The Turks were tossed out of Mesopotamia less than 100 years ago. Who's going to welcome them back?

So we need this UN resolution to get more troops. The Indians are "leaking" that there won't be any Indian troops. The Turks are extracting a price that is likely to do irreparable harm. The Pakistani's are mad at us, and hence unlikely to be sending many troops. There's just no easy way out of a Tar Baby.
