If I may suggest something? The most fun I have giving to people I don't know, is to give in spontaneous little ways- for example, there were three children at Mc D's who didn't have enough money for their lunch- so I gave them the extra money- I won't forget that. There was a cashier at Target who LOVED (I kid you not) a pair of knee socks I was getting for my daughter, so I bought them for her and gave them to her, right there- you would have thought she won $100.00. I paid for a man's order at In and Out burger- because the poor man had ordered, but only had an ATM card. Many things like that- personal, and yet, totally unexpected, and not what people normally do. I could go on and on- I try to do at least one a week, and I keep a journal of them. They make me very happy, much happier than the relative "cost" of the actions.

The fun is in never knowing when the opportunity will arise, and I think it is better if the people are strangers. IMO

Oh well. It was worth a try.

If you want to try it again, do keep me in mind. I can be made happy for a while lot less than $2,000, so you can test whether your first reaction was an aberration for under $500. Cheap at twice the price!
