So you don't care what the taxes are used for, just so they are as high as possible? The cost of that war will probably doom any attempt to make the Bush tax cuts permanent.

Yeah, more taxes, that's the answer to everything, right? In addition to raising income taxes, I predict the Democrats will really "flex their muscles" if they ever take control again. Expect the unexpected: 1) Make private gold ownership illegal again (just like FDR did). See my previous post. 2) Seize everyone's 401K and IRA assets and "merge" them into the Social Security "trust fund". After all, it's just "unfair" that some people who got "lucky" by managing their money well should have a better retirement than the poor slobs who rely exclusively on Social Security. So, let's just make everyone's retirement "equal". It's only fair...
