What should I do next... me being a lessor engineer

Develop a sense of perspective? <ggg>

Leaping all the way to the false conclusion that we shall all soon find ourselves unemployed and living in mud huts... well, that's obviously bereft of substantial context.

Sure, in all probability there are thousands of people somewhere on this planet, willing and capable of doing a better job than you (at whatever it is you do) for a lower wage than you currently command (whatever it is you earn). But that is still no cause for despair.

In all probability it will be a while before one of these competitors presents your boss with an offer he can't refuse. While this horde is quite adequately equipped to compete in the labor market on the basis of price, you have a competitive edge in terms of channel.

Price is not the only effective basis of competitive advantage. And often channel wins. Just don't kid yourself that you stand a chance if it ever just comes down to price. And don't kid yourself that others with price advantage aren't rapidly constructing competing channels.

But don't also assume that the carrying cost of these channels won't erode their price advantage so that we end up with a new equilibrium that resides somewhere between mud hut and mansion.

And as this transpires, perhaps the best thing for you would be to polish that pearly button of yours 'till it gleams and compete with all the rest of your assets to the best of your ability?

And along the way try to avoid insulting people who might some day be instrumental in your future employment :o)
