Shawn,

I don't understand why not even one politician of either party have suggested that this might be the way to fill the gap in Afghanistan and Iraq. Instead, they are talking about extending tours of duty or calling up more reserves.

This seems like a no brainer. Just pull the troops out of Germany. Let the French defend them. LOL.

Germany is helping us.. I believe they are in charge of the nato troops in afganistan... I doubt the problem in Germany but its leader.. Elections must be coming up soon , maybe they will vote in some one else.

Rumsfeld is planning moving troops to cheaper area like the countries that broke away from Russia.. First its less expensive and i assume they are trying to repay them for their help during Afgan war and support in Iraq.

Of course, Rummy doesn't get what he wants. g
