Latest CNN poll: Kerry 16%, Dean 11%
Go to CNN Politics and see for yourself. Sept 5th poll.

Even if some other polls differ, and Kerry hasn't yet cut Dean back down to size in NH, it's not at all clear Dean is the front-runner especially after all the damage he's done himself this past week, and how vociferously he's begun to be attacked by his rivals. The "Hamas are soldiers" remark all destroys him with pro-defense voters, the very swing-voter types he'd need to have any chance of beating Bush.

Dean is one of three frontrunners. Different polls show both Dean, Kerry and Gephardt leading the pack. Lieberman though looks like he's slipped out of the top rung.

If Clark runs, he will may hurt Dean most of all.

Latest poll shows the weakened Bush beating Dean 51% to 37%, and that after an amazingly strong August for Dean and a terrible one for Bush.

As Bill Maher said last night "Shouldn't past military service be required of the Dem nominee in this day and age?" I agree. It's the main reason I got behind Kerry, but not the only one. It's all about taking the pro-military middle from Bush. It's the only way to win.
