Mars, Unconditional love is the answer for peace on Earth. That is a lofty ambition, but how, and when, can such an elusive goal be gained when those of the same religions battle between sect, and sect? Families have, virtual, wars over money, and other such material goals. People battle over the color of another's skin, nationality, or political leanings. Yes, love must begin within the structure of the family, but how much structure do families have these days? Millions of single parents, rampant spousal abuse, child abuse, and mind altering addictions. Where can the love begin? It needs more fertile ground than seems to be available in the present times. The world MUST wake up while there is still time to mend the wounds. We can only see to the events in our own lives that we can control, try to teach others the value of love, and hope, or pray, for the best. Your friend sounds like my kind of guy. I admire his wish to die, surrounded by the nature that meant so much to him. As a friend, you did him a great service by allowing him to go as he wished.
