The pure exploration plays never got much speculation cash out of me, they're beer-money ventures quite strictly ... an old fellow years ago used to say 'never spend more on any PoS than you've spent throwing a party', and that's a good idea probably, for most people ..... and even then, i play the financing/promotion cycle in quite cynical manner, always always sell some on the pre-drilling and pre-assay spikes, sell back to freebies if i'm a believer and below freebies if i'm not

It's the ones with known metal and a development story that warrant a little more, imho .... often they have considerable exploration potential as well, but you don't have to pay for that, as you're getting known or near-known ounces at a discount anyway .... a lot of smaller producers fall in this category, and they always need more capital, so you can play the financing/promotion thing there as well ..... but all of these have run nice this summer, doesn't pay to get too greedy, so i'm keeping some but i sold a fair bit, stocking up ammo for whatever comes along between here and tax-loss time
