Of course they don't, because after a while you just live with it and think everyone lives this way.

Average American homes are like modern castles to most Europeans. The biggest reason, I suppose, is we just build more homes and home building is a very competitive industry. Builders have to dig it out and meet the needs of an ever demanding consumer.

My best friend is a home builder in Washington State, when I think of the recent homes he's built on Bainbridge Island, they would just blow away people's mind here.

We take sooo much for granted as Americans...

Not true for Germany. Power blackouts like in the USA are unimaginable here. I recently posted a link to a report on US infrastructure weaknesses by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). #reply-19273279
