No, the Dean flipflops are real and intentional as he suddenly realized he has a chance and tried to take a right turn toward the middle. But he also gaffed twice, lying about talking to white people about race, and calling Hamas "soldiers" when even the French now recognize them as terrorists. The Hamas remark actually could eliminate him from the presidential race it is so serious. Imagine the Bush ads repeating this line over and over making Dean look pathetically weak on terrorism.
