If it tastes ok to brush your teeth with and that doesn't give you the runs then it's probably ok to drink.

My wife won't drink anything but bottled water now. Sometimes I'll take half a bottle out of the fridge when I want a cold drink and replace the water with tap water. She hasn't noticed yet.

A lot of the bottled water sold in stores @$1.50 per gallon is just city water in a jug.
