Hypocrisy? As a libertarian, there is much about Bushes policies that I don't care for at all. On the fiscal side, I don't like to see deficits get out of control. On the Iraq situation, I'm not thrilled about the way that has evolved, either. On some social issues, my positions are way to the left. On the domestic side, John Ashcroft's utter disregard for the protection of our civil liberties and privacy that's spelled out in the constitution gives me the chills. I can picture him being quite at home in the role of Grand Inquisitor back in the Dark Ages.

I hear libertarians take that stance all the time......esp. with Ashcroft. You all act as if he is disembodied from the rest of the Bush adminitration; that he was a aberration and does not represent the Bush administration at all. Well you're wrong!

In fact, he very much reflects the thinking of the Bush administration. Homeland Security was formed and empowered under the Bush administration. Ashcroft and the Patriot Act have the full support and backing of Mr. Bush.

And then, in the next paragraph, you have the unmitigated gall to say that the Dems are the biggest threat to this country. Do you ever read back what your write?! The biggest threat to the well being of this country is the Bush administration......period!

That being said, I find the Democratic Party and economic leftists to be a far greater threat to the future of our country. I view your anti business, anti growth, anti progress, statist, socialist, basically anti life policies to be detestable. Unless Bush really goes nuts, I'll hold my nose and vote for him next year. The majority of politicians on both sides of the isle are bobble head, pandering, intellectual dwarves, IMO.

First, the economimc leftists as you call them had the longest peacetime economy in the history of this nation........roll your eyes, but it was a real expansion. Secondly, you better get clear what comes first........freedom and democracy or your beloved capitalism. Frankly, if we lose the freedom and democracy part, then we become more like China. Is that what you want?

If not, then stuff your capitalistic nonsense and get real. This administration is trying to strip us of our freedoms while starting pre-emptive wars based on distorted truths if not outright lies. That's not the American way.......that's not even the democratic way. While you fiddle over your fears of anti growth or so called Dem socialism, Rome is burning!

In my book, libertarians are just another kind of conservative except they pretend to care about people's freedoms. In the meantime, conservatives don't bother to pretend......its all about the money!
