Did you see the Cheney/Russert interview? I was shocked by the lack of journalistic integrity shown by Russert. I was embarassed for him. But I guess the stakes are high enough for him that he played the role he signed up for.

I was also amazed at Cheney's statements. It looked like a replay from March and he had been given no new information.
The fact that he stonewalled to such a degree makes me very uncomfortable. It's either incompetence or intellectual dishonesty and the choice is none too palatable. Does he really think the American Public is buying the trash he talks? I was surprised. I really expected him to begin talking us down form the ceiling but he had his story and was sticking to it.

The only time he admitted to " I mispoke." was when Russert played the clip where he said "Iraq had reconstituted uranium for nuclear bombs." And then he sort of whispered "I mispoke." and Russert never even did a follow up.

So according to CHeney the WMDS will be found, he talked about Kay's report (apparently he had no idea it was being delayed), they expected this outcome and, he understands how America sees a link to AQ and Iraq (he does too).

By the way when confronted on the "Hundreds of THousands of Troops needed" (as Shinseki had advised) he said "It depends on how you define hundred of thousands."
Oh, and also, not to worry, there are lots of troops available to replace the existing troops next Spring.

It was a sad, scary performance, in my opinion.More Captain Queege than Captain Marvel.
