Dean's "Hamas are soldiers" comment destroys any hope he ever had of running against Bush. It may be partly true but that's irrelevant. Karl Rove can run that line 100,000 times on TV and make Dean look like a complete terorist appeaser.

It's over for Dean and he doesn't even know it. To beat Bush you cannot make outrageously stupid gaffes like that. Especially after you opposed the war and when you have zero military experience.

Also, you'll scare Jewish votes and money away from the Dem party. They are both critical, especially in Florida and in trying to get anywhere near Bush's fundraisings. From raising funds for Kerry I can tell you kmore than half the loot comes from Jewish contributors. They are very engaged and put their money where their beliefs are.

Dean has exposed himself here as an amateur in terms of national politics. Not ready for prime time.

Israel's Illegal Settlements

Lizzie,

Thank You! I couldn't agree with you more. The U.S. support for the illegal actions of Ariel Sharon are a national embarrassment. We need to reign in this thug.

-R.

If you want to take a pacifist views, fine, but if any candidate with that attitude gets nominated, he will lose to Bush 60-40% or even worse. He will go down just as Dukakis did.

Even now, Dean runs against Bush the weakest of all major candidates in recent polls. Middle American swing voters will decide the election. They don't trust liberal pacifists from Vermont. Dean is a nice, smart feisty guy but so was Dukakis.
