But notice that you STILL won't admit that our foreign policy has been tilted towards Israel.

I guess you can't understand English, for I DID STATE that the US support for Israel became more pronounced AFTER 1973 (although evident in the post-1967)..

We all know the Jewish lobby has always been able to place pressure upon US politicians to support Israel. But the Arab aggression and public statements of hostility towards Israel, as well as a stated agenda of utterly wiping out the Israelis went far to making the Jewish lobby's job far easier.

That, combined with blatant Soviet support and advice aimed at inciting such aggression towards Israel, also made US support for them pretty much a "no-brainer".

The Arabs (except the Saudis) threw their lot in with the Soviets (just look at all of their Russian military equipment). And they did this WELL BEFORE the US became an active supporter of Israel. And these Arab states continue to pay for that mistake, as well as the decades of wasted time and money believing they could destroy the country.

And ever since 1967, countries such as Syria and Saddam's Iraq have refused to make peace, sacrificing economic prosperity in order to pursue there religious hatreds. And they have shown themselves perfectly willing to EXPLOIT the Palestinian issue, as well as financing and encouraging Arafat and Fatah to avoid making peace.

And it didn't help that Jordan avoided making peace until AFTER the first intifada made it evident that there was no chance he would be able to regain the territory under Jordanian rule (why weren't they called occupiers?).

As for the current status of that "tilt", the Bush administration apparently has just "leaked" that it will likely be putting a hold on some loan guarantees for Israel in order to push them to halt and remove their settlement activity.

Sharon didn't do himself any favors by threatening to kill or exile Arafat (though who can blame them?)..

Colin Powell also came out effectively denouncing those statements.

Just face some facts Bilow... The Arabs have really presented themselves as the more intolerant and foolish side in this conflict. They have wasted decades and Billions of dollars in pursuing their hatred of Israel, rather than just accepting it's reality.

And were it not Israel occupying the West Bank, it would be Jordan. And people like you, the Europeans, or the rest of the Arab world, wouldn't give a SH*T about the "plight" of these people..

Hell, you don't even give a SH*T about the plight of the people who were being oppressed and massacred by the Baathists.

And nobody gave a SH*T about the residents of Hama, when Hafex Al-Assad decided to slaughter some 20,000+ of them.

Some more evidence of that "tilt" you claim exists towards Israel?:

U.S. stopped Israeli raid to seize Arafat

SPECIAL TO WORLD TRIBUNE.COM
Monday, September 15, 2003

The United States has prevented Israel's military from capturing the headquarters of Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat.

U.S. government sources said the Bush administration sent a harsh message to Israel to suspend plans to capture Arafat's headquarters in Ramallah over the weekend. The sources said the had military planned to raid the so-called Muqata'a on late Friday and capture Arafat.

Both Secretary of State Colin Powell and National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice telephoned Israeli and PA leaders and warned Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to suspend the military plans, Middle East Newsline reported.

The U.S. sources said the Bush administration was alarmed by the Israeli entry into Ramallah on Thursday. An Israeli military force captured a PA ministry about 300 meters from Arafat's headquarters and established a command post for the capture of the Muqata'a.

At that point, the sources said, the administration was informed by the CIA that Israel planned to imminently capture Arafat's headquarters and seize the PA chairman. They said Israel planned to exile Arafat to a distant Arab country.

"The United States does not support either the elimination or the exile of Mr. Arafat," Powell said. "It is not our position and the Israeli government knows this. There would be rage in the Arab world and the Muslim world. And I don't see this moving forward the roadmap."

Powell and Rice sent Israel a message, the sources said, that the United States regards any move to exile Arafat as harmful to Washington's interests in the Middle East, including the roadmap for a Palestinian state. At the same time, U.S. ambassador to Israel Daniel Kurtzer met Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz and warned of an international backlash to Arafat's exile.

The sources said the U.S. pressure worked and by Saturday Mofaz ordered the withdrawal of the Israeli military force from Ramallah. At the same time, Powell telephoned PA International Cooperation Minister Nabil Shaath and pledged that Washington will continue to ensure that Arafat is not harmed.
