Its Hard To Believe All This Talk About Un-pegging The Yuan Is Not Just Political Theater Forget the more esoteric issue of such a change reducing China's need or desire to continue to prop up the US debt market. It seems that no one has thought about the fact that a more expensive Yuan substantially reduces the value of the manufacturing facilities we have and continue to build there and ultimately will increase the cost of everything produced there that is only just about everything we buy here.
