Comments: General Clark, America needs you. You keep hearing how much safer we would feel with you at the helm given your understanding of the need for effective foreign policy. That is a given. I liked the letter where, during the first few weeks of the IRAQ fiasco, the guy said he told his wife to come in to the room because "Dad" was on t.v. You have a way about you that made us feel better even when we knew our fellow citizens were in harm's way and we weren't happy about it in the least nor quite sure why they were there. What you might not be hearing enough of, however, is our belief that with your economics education and business experience you would bring an understanding of economic issues to the table as well. After all, the two cannot be totally separated as you previously mentioned. Bush/Cheny et. al have created such a mess in so many areas it will take quite awhile to straighten things out. I, for one, want a smart man with a can-do attitude in the oval office, as is only fitting for the President of these United States of America. That person is you. Someone who will take an intellectual and fair look at our nation's issues and then determine the strategy for resolving them based on what is best for the country as a whole, not for a greedy few. Don't let those unworthy, uncaring, greedy neocons (e.g. KR) annoy or insult you as their claims are baseless. Let them annoy us and your campaign staff. We can take it because we see right through them and believe in you. All you have to do is be yourself and stay true to your beliefs while presenting them rationally, as you always do, because you are rational. Sadly, another quality seemingly missing from the current administration. Please Sir, I'm almost in tears writing this and I'm praying for you and your family each day. I understand this is an enormous decision for both you and your family but YOU CAN MAKE US PROUD AGAIN!! PLEASE RUN FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!

Comments: General Clark: I admit I only vaguely knew who you were a few months ago, but have since done a little homework. I am convinced that not only do you have the best chance to defeat Bush next year, but also that, of those in the field, you are the best person for the job. To me, patriotism in a free country is expressing your opinions, whether they dovetail with those in authority or not. I am sick to death of the way dissenters to this war in Iraq are branded as traitors. It is particularly galling when some of the most fierce criticism comes from those individuals who were unwilling to sacrifice for their country. We have a president who dodged the draft by joining the Air National Guard - and then didn't even bother to show up for duty. We have a vice president who has been quoted as saying he had "better things to do" than serve. And we have a party that labelled a triple amputee veteran as unpatriotic while at the same time putting forward a candidate who chose not to serve. My father, a gulf war veteran, once told me that not all of the military is Republican. Thanks for proving him right.

Comments: Dear General Clark, I grew up during the Clinton years, but have come of age during the current, disgusting administration. For the past three years I have seen nothing by arrogance, deceit and a total want of propriety. I felt that there was no hope of anything getting better (seeing the lackluster prospective Democratic cantidates), until I heard my mom mention an interview with you she saw on TV. I was so excited that I had to find out more about you; and from what I have discovered you, sir are the answer to our prayers. You have all of the qualities necessary to mount a serious challenge to the present disgrace of an administration. My hope has since grown as I have heard more about you and I now feel that there is a chance for real change. Please General, once again answer the call of duty and step up. The American people need you! Don't let GW win without a fight. I am thoroughly convinced that you are the only one that stands a chance against the Bush cartel. Please run for president! Sincerely yours, Katie Bishop

Comments: President Bush is leading the country and possibly the world down a frightening path. He claims to be strong on defense but only seems to be strong on offense: offending all of our allies and enemies alike. He has cut taxes in an irresponsible way dooming cherished social programs. He is squandering every resource we have, both natural and political. Deliberately misleading and decieving the average American, especially dangerous is the gutting (through monetary starvation) of our most important resources in these troubling times: local Police, Border Guards, Emergency Personel, health care funding... All this while scarily claiming to feel "chosen by God" to lead. Jihadists claim God on their side. Bush, Ashcroft, Cheney... are reversing all of America's greatness. I believe they must be stopped. They are ruthless, however, and have many techniques to win elections (Witness push polls to ruin McCain, Misquotes that ruined Gore...) I believe you are the only electable challenger. I am not sure if you can win a Democratic primary, but I am certain that you can win a general election. I am certain also that someone besides Bush MUST win. Please, please, for the sake of our country, our people, and possibly the good of the entire world, help us defeat these evil people running our government. Thank you, Sincerely, Randall S. Freed |
