Yes, Clinton is using Clark to stop Dean especially. Clinton does not mind Kerry, in fact he likes him a lot and Gore does too but otherwise he wants a moderate southern face representing the Dems to the media, at least as a top candidate.

Since Edwards stumbled and Graham never connected, Clinton has moved on to Clark. Clinton is right. If the dems are seen as too northern and not connected with southern and middle American voters, they could fail to knock off Bush. Clark is the perfect guy to change the Dem image. Whether or not Clark becomes the nominee is a different matter. He has such a long way to go it seems almost impossible. But anything could happen.

One thing is clear. Now that Clark is in, Dean will lose a lot of his gas. Clark is the new flavor of the month. Clark's move won't knock out Kerry or Gephardt but it may knock out all the others, one by one. Dean will probably make it to the convention but without anywhere near the support to win.
