Hi Jay,
You are thinking of selling Vermillion Energy Trust and Aventura. I'm guessing that the potential buyer is Shell since they have been big in Trinidad for more than half a century. But the natural gas can only be worth a little bit more for Shell than for Vermillion/Aventura. So I see no reason for the stock to go up or down in response to this deal even if it happens. I'm holding onto Vermillion and enjoying the yield, particularly the depreciation cash return part.
By the way, it's interesting that China is building up an oil reserve. It's a safer way to use US dollars than buying US treasury bonds, where most of China's dollars go.
Chugs,
Malcolm
