If a clean politician kicked out the dirty money crowd in Washington, and survived, that alone would balance the budget and allow reduction in taxes, and prosperity would get a major boost. It seems a tax increase of some kind is inevitable I disagree. The costs of gov't are 2x what they should be to provide the services we get. Some gov't services (such as the globalism treaties) actually damage our economy, and by cutting those we gain twice, saving the costs of gov't involved, and again by the gain in our economy from jobs. The military is targeted to be 3.7% of the GDP by PNAC and the neocons, and soon $1/2 Trillion/year. This number has nothing whatever to do with national security, simply with what they think they can get away with. By stirring up internat'l hostilities the need for gov't, and for military, increases dramatically, as does the control of gov't officials over the people. By non-empire approach and creating true alliances we can cut that number drastically. There is acknowledged waste and fraud at a mind-boggling level. Rumsfeld calmly declared the DOD has discovered its accounts show $2 TRILLION MISSING. Gee, they just don't know where that might have gone.
