90% of Americans would agree Hamas are not soldiers, but some of the worst and most problematic terrorists in the world. To call them soldiers legitimizes them and appeases them, making them legal entitities with a legitimate war to fight. Worse it "proves" Dean is weak on terrorism, a huge no-no in this particular race. Dean could get away with this is he were running for local office in a liberal venue, but nationally, it's pure poison. He just saved Karl Rove tens of millions in ad money buys by saying this one line, assuming Dean were to be nominated, which he won't be, especially with Clark now entering the race. Dean is a goner. Good man though, don't get me wrong.
