Hi Maurice Winn; Re: "Not that Israel would do it, but would you include a Final Solution? I disagree that we should let them do whatever they want to with all of the Palestinians."

I think you miss my point. Our relationship with the Israelis should be like our relationship with other little countries. When they threaten to do really mean stuff, we suggest to them that this would not be a good idea. But in general, we let them do whatever they like to their citizens. When their actions spill over across borders, we go in militarily.

Nor is our actions with Germany in WW2 any different. Hell, I don't think we even mentioned diplomatically to Germany that her laws against Jews were not right back in the mid 30s (long before the mass killings).

Re: "The UN established Israel, albeit almost on a fait accompli basis. So "we" are already more than partially responsible for what goes on."

The "sins of the father" do not have to be paid by the sons. Or if we want the sins to go away, what better time than now to step away from the situation.

Alternatively, we could keep intervening in the Middle East for the next 50 years, and then use that to justify our intervening for the next 100 years, LOL.
