Crusty very good point about the profits.

As we approach the end of the third quarter and year end for mutual funds in October I sense the urge to book profits will grow. The commodity pool fund operators have to be in a somewhat similar position. Wouldn't take too much more stalling around at these levels for selling to come in that as you suggest could produce an avalanch...Gold and PM bulls have to figure there are strong hands with longer term time horizons ready to take up position...They do not seem capable of pushing the price through $380....Today's two plus dollar drop from $376 looked like a real intent seller active....long liquidator or short seller??? Time to start watching the open interest....
