OK, I see the point you are making. As far as I am concerned, however, I saw through that "integrity" facade long before he made his UN speech. I have to admit, though, I did support him initially particularly when W attempted to stage a Punch and Judy show with him juxtaposed against Rumsfelt, Wolfwowitz and the other chicken-hawks. As the lone guardian of whatever principles apparently remained, it was clear that his position became untenable very soon and he had to conform simply in order to survive. I'm sure he would have been toast if he did not toe the party line.
