My view is that its one thing to be handled but quite another to do it in public. But you and Bill might be right. It's like when clinton told MTV kids what type of underwear he wore. I thought it would be bad for him, but net, net it proved to be good for this campaign. Frankly, i was not enamored by Bushes campaign in 2000 either. It looked very scripted too. There is a difference imo between having a speechwriter and having a brain. Too much handling creates the latter opinion, whether true or not. I thought Deans allure was that he was not politics as usual. mike
