I came away from the course on how various talking heads try to manipulate the audience. not much changed..

The anchor power of the Majors is still enormous. Dan Rather is 72, and they have no one at CBS available to replace him. Why? Rather has made sure that no reporter in the CBS system gets the kind of air-time he got on the way up. We talk about the cable people, but the three majors still have the audience.
