yes...

that's what i was getting at in my earlier post...if the judges were aware of the compubox scores, would they have given mosely the fight because he had hit harder?

i don't know, maybe they would.

but in this particular fight, the compubox scores were almost all DLH, and my opinion ring generalship was as well...but with these 3 judges the "harder hit" carried the most weight...i suppose they could still override compubox scoring with their judgement, but they *might* be less inclined to do so if compubox numbers were so heavily in favor of a boxer....were it to be used officially in the judging. as long as the human interpretation of the fight is preserved, i see no reason not to use compubox

How about this? (1) Four judges ( one on each side of the ring). They independently tabulate their scores. All rounds are 10-9 unless a knockdown occurs. Knockdowns are automatically valued a 2 points. Two or more knockdowns in the same round are automatically valued at 3 points. 3 or more knockdowns in the same round ends the bout. Scoring is tabulated by a count of total points. The four scores are added together to determine the winner.

Now, here is a question or two: Are the judges checked for vision? Are they evaluated by the commission on how they have ruled in prior contests which ended up in a controversy? Are they ever set back if their judging record indicates a lack of competency or judgement? Finally, what kind of money do they make? Where do I apply? <gg>
