No, we won't agree on the substance of this but you are still missing my point. The Rep members on the Supreme Court reversed their states right position to make the Gore v Bush decision. The Florida Supreme Court made decision within their well understood jurisdiction based on consistent grounds. Based on those differences, the public narrative for the US Supreme Court decision is that the political version of it has a great deal more grab. Had they consistently been opposed to states rights argument, the perception of politics only would not have been so strong.

I'm not arguing the substance of these decisions; I'm arguing the degree to which there is widespread perception that they are political and for that perception to carry no shame.
