They were called to try THE LEADERSHIP, Forgive me for beating a dead horse to more death :-) Was not all of Germany under 1 LEADER - Hitler ? Werent the others soldiers (regardless of rank) "just obeying" the "chain of command" ? Not that I forgive what they did - I guess, in a roundabout way, I'm saying some laws stand the test of time for a few years, some a bit longer. In that context, The Geneva Convention and the UN charter probably ought to be looked at as evolving agreements, and not sacrosanct like the Bible, Koran, etc.
