That would be pretty cool.

I'm thinking of a field on the reply screen that allows one to input any ticker, then after you hit "submit," the desired quote as of that moment is fetched and inserted into the post.

Probably impossibly difficult to accomplish, but it sure would add some integrity to real time calls.

It would be really cool if you could insert a quote into a message. Say <q>QQQ, which returns QQQ - $34.00 (9/16/03, 2:37 EST). The problem is the twenty minute delay.

Bob,

Re: Search function

I know there were some problems before with search, but I thought they were resolved. I just did a search which returned two posts - one from 7/17/03 and the other from 7/18/03. However, when I clicked on them, they returned "*The message cannot be found"

Is this a known problem? Thanks

EDIT: Nevermind, I think. I just realized what the problem was. I used 3 words and the symbol "%" in the search. When I tried the search again without the %, it returned the same 2 posts, which were then "found."

Bill

Nope, I hadn't thought of using it for any quotes referencing.
Actually I have little use ofr the quotes on the threads.
A nice feature, and I do look at them when visiting a thread that has a quote tagged to it(not the portfolios though, I mostly keep those hidden, too much space used)

I guess a thread chairman could keep it straight if he had the tools.

Is Bob thinking of adding chairman on SI like IHub has?
I like that feature FWIW.
