I never heard that one. What does "intimately" mean in this context? Does it include all therapeutic and medical touching? or does it just refer to handshakes, hugs, or kisses between friends? What is the premise of the "should not" exclusion? That all touch is evil or dangerous or undesirable? Or simply that "touching" is disrespectful regardlesss of other values it futhers or defies?

Is there a logical reason why people should NEVER touch one another? What principle is the avoidance of touch based on? And where touch is an essential component of a treatment modality...what principle argues against such treatment?
