As far as acting like a pharisee - who is it that is accusing and railing against God's truth. You my friend - you are. think about it AMEN! I find it refreshing to see another person who actually shows God his faith, by taking the unselfish time to read, learn and hopefully live by his "Word", so that you can do what Jesus told us all to do: "To live by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God"... Now, why do so many people have a problem understanding the full meaning of that statement, when in every book in the New Testament (even Revelation) faith is shown to be the choices that we unselfishly make to show and give our love to God and our neighbors (his children), as even the devil believes in God, but will of course not be in the Kingdom of Heaven, and Jesus clearly showed examples of people who would and would not be known by him and found to be faithful servents, ie. the 5 foolish virgins and the unprofitable servant who buried his talent. I find the book of Hebrews pretty clear on how God gave us examples of men of faith showed their faith to him...Even those that prophesize, heal, or do other many wonerful works, will not be let into the kingdom of Heaven, if they work iniquity Matthew 7:21-23. And those that "heareth these sayings of mine (Jesus), and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man , who built his house upon the sand: In fact, when I read all of Matthew Chapter 7,( as I try to never try and take a verse out of context, by leaving out the rest of what is in that chapter) there is alot of insight into the two different paths, prophets, trees and their fruit, and servants that Jesus said we run into and be able to tell if the truth is in them, or not! Also, how could anyone think that God does not show his righteousness in either having his angels kill the unrighteous, or doing it himself, in many different ways? I guess by not reading the Old Testament, where even Moses was almost killed by God, for not circumsizing his son, and then he was not allowed into the promised land, because he did not show his faith in God, by trusting God to give water to his people. Our Lord God punished Aaron's sons: Na'dab and A-bi'hu with death from a fire that went out from the Lord Lev. 10:1-2. Also, what happened to the husband and wife who lied to Peter about how much they sold their property for, as they tried to not give all of the money to the church? Acts 5:1-11. Yes, doing good works is not enough, but it is the least one can do to show their faith, in addition to not working inquity! I have alot to learn, and don't expect to ever know everything about God's Word, but that is no excuse for not making time to read all of his Word and live by it...people who pretend to know nothing or that they do not have to do anything to show God their faith (love), are making the same mistake as the servant who buried his talent in the earth, and should not expect to see their loved ones, who actually show God their faith, imho. May God have mercy on them and help them to wake up before it is too late, as the 5 foolish virgins found out... May God bless you and your family, in Jesus Christ name! Shawn
