I agree - comforting another in their time of pain is often impossible. It is like trying to assist a dog that has been hit by a car. If you go near it it is more likely to bite you that appreciate what you are trying to do. Sorry for snapping at you but I have listened to too much crap from people over the years about "how God really is" and all of it completely foreign to what the scripture teach.
