Can you do something about how high-order ASCII characters get shown in posts? Fairly often if you cut and paste into an SI post some of the characters get replaced by question marks.

For example:

(The original is linked at the end of the post).

Note the question marks in place of an em dash and in place of bullets. You also frequently run into this problem with single open and close quotes.

This problem first showed up on SI about a year ago.

SI search has gone from bad to worse. I thought you had indicated it was being several fixed months ago. I know several people who are using Google to search SI, but that's far from perfect. Can you let us know what the basic problem is so we can at least get some idea of what we're dealing with here?
