Not exactly a minaret, but along the same lines... Group Wants to Display Aphorisms Next to Ten Commandments Sep. 16, 2003 (Pleasant Grove-AP) -- A Utah-based religious group wants to display its Seven Aphorisms next to the Ten Commandments display in a Pleasant Grove park. Summum says putting up their Seven Aphorisms would make the world a better place. An attorney for Summum sent two letters to Pleasant Grove officials threatening court action if they don't approve the monument. They were supposed to file a response by yesterday. A city attorney says the Ten Commandments monument is in the park with other memorials and displays honoring the city's heritage and should stay there. Summum's attorney believes the group's request fits into that same concept. Summum has tried to erect their principles next to Ten Commandments monuments in Ogden and Salt Lake City and were denied.
