Selectric,

There have, in fact, been about 6,000 'casualties' returned from Iraq to the U.S. This includes the broadest term of casualty, including but not limited to physical disease, mental illness, suicide, accident victims, etc.

Those injured directly in conflict with the 'enemy' may well be about 1,500.

However, that isn't the complete story.... as you well know now.
