At a Press Conference Tuesday, Rumsfeld was talking up the international coalition joining our troops in Iraq. This group includes 300 Fijians, sure to be an enormous help!! Motley crew. The division's 7,800 soldiers from 21 nations are truly strangers in a strange land: Mongolian engineers in Hilla, Kazakhs handling logistics in Wazit province. And, though the Latin American battalions were "a bit later than the rest in terms of operational readiness," according to a Polish spokesman, forces from Nicaragua, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and El Salvador will soon take over patrols in Najaf province. "This is our first mission out of our country," says Maj. Daniel Nuñez Meran, of the 302-man team from the Dominican Republic. "It is a challenge for us because we usually fight drug traffickers. Here, it is very different."
