There were commentators on CNBC last night almost in tears over Grasso's resignation, and questioning where do we go from here? Why is Grasso viewed as a pivotal fiugure in the capital markets? This view totally escapes me. The NYSE is a not a monopoly, but at the same time it is one of the few places to list a stock. Why people see the head of the NYSE as someone who is deserving obscene compensation is again beyond me, as there is ABOSUTELY NO INNOVATION REQUIRED! It is a status quo business! Run the business as it was run 100 years ago, and your chance of success is very high. Not much has changed, expcept of course for the volume.

As for the markets, it does appear they seem to be moving on.....and rather well I might add:-)
