now everyone is running around suggesting the "the fox (filthy rich one at that) is guarding the henhouse"

Is there a law that says you cannot ask for "x" compensation? probably not.

He did not "forced", "threaten" or "make them agree" obviously, (right or wrong) they agreed to such compensation, chances are that they never looked real closely to what level it would get.

The benefits that he provided the NYSE should have been evaluated then...

I just have a problem with all these "talking heads" with their "speeches" of outrage... and the mentality that making money is "criminal" (or at least that is the perception.)

The "image" that politicians and other public do-gooders attempt to give now is that of outrage... why ? I mean if they are public servants working for the "common good" and they deem this compensation extreme... where were they when the Enrons and the WCOM's and all the rest, (including RG pay package approval process) took place ?

This mentality of "get the rich" (--because I am too dumb to do what he is getting and I have no other choice, so bring them down)... I do not believe it will take us anywhere... just more of the same garbage.

The system is not broken because CEO's get paid a lot of money.... there are other reasons...

For example... where is the "logic" of multimillion awards for "pain and suffering" why is it that medical care is so damned expensive ?

Where is the damned logic in attacking Phillip Morris and milk them to death and forcing them to become the health care provider of several states?

I mean didn't the smokers make the conscious decision to smoke anyway ?

it is the mentality that I have a problem with... as for Grasso... hey, he did not do anything wrong... he just had a big dream and asked for it... and the genie gave it to him... so why burn him at the stake... if they want blood get the board member's blood for being dumb and stupid.

Big oops is right...
