Dean also has big money connections, blue blood family, etc, as does Bush. Who cares? Dean's problem is he's a military weakling, an appeaser, even a pacifist, and from the most liberal state. It will be easy for Bush-Cheney to paint him that way. Dean would lose in a landslide.

Dean is already finished, most people just don't know it yet. Clark's entry is the nail in Dean's coffin. Dean will be left with anti-war types and Naderites as his supporters. Remember, bottomline in 2004 is to beat Bush. Nothing else matters. Dean is the wrong man for that job.
