Let's assume that Sharon's visit to the Wall created a call for an Intifadah.

That's partly true. His statement that Israel would take that piece of land from the Palestinians was one factor in starting the Intifada, as was the knowledge that he could and would do it. But another factor in starting the Intifada was when Israeli troops starting firing on unarmed Palestinians, slaughtering a number of them and injuring more. Violence begets violence.
