The democrats have no incentive to push a false agenda to link Saddam to 911. Republcans would benefit from BS like that and I have seen republicans pander to 911 on unrelated topics often, so I suspect republicans themselves are the source. However, none of it matters because I don't believe the public is as swayed as the polls say.

No, from the Bush Administration.

Poll shows that 71% of Americans believe that the Bush Administration implied that Iraq was involved in 9/11.

Also, 52% of Americans believe that the US has found clear evidence of an Iraq/Al Qaeda link. 68% of Republicans believe so.

So, the Bush Administration has been the ones creating the impression, according to the people who have been 'impressed' with this message. This clearly shows that the Bush Administration has been attempting to justify the Iraqi invasion on yet another false premise. Their recent denials, at least by administration officials with names other than Cheney, show how disingenuous they are. First, they create a false impression, then deny doing so, when clearly 70% of the people believe they have created this impression

Don't even dignify boneheadinaustin by calling her laura bush now...she changed her SI name because she is so damned jealous of Mrs. Bush she cannot stand it. Her hatred for the Bush family is born out of her own failures as opposed to Mrs. Bush's successes.
