hey, those aren't the only options, Terry.

It's funny -- you can't take it with you so you burn it up on the way out??

My Mom died from smoking -- when they found the tumor on the brain the doctor wasn't very good at saying -- "it doesn't look like there's much hope for recovery" -- he said they could do some radiation as a "palliative" measure. I was there -- felt like kicking his butt -- esp since my mom was not in the state of mind, I think, to make a rational decision. After the trip in for the second treatment -- she realized she couldn't make the trip any more and a few weeks after that my Dad had to put her in a facility where she spent the last few months of her life ...

I think if I am rational and I ever get to that pt the choice would be easy for me ... who really wants to spend their last days being poked about by doctors. Not me. No way. No how.

None of us bring anything into this world and we sure aren't taking anything out. If somebody wants to spend a bunch of money on some outside chance they will survive and thrive -- who cares. If somebody doesn't -- who cares. IN the future it won't matter.

There will always be money -- as long as there are people in this world. Got to make those kinds of choices based on some other kind of calculus.

Terry, there are many other choices.

Although I have no problem with self-inflicted euthanasia, what if it is against the will of the patient?

This is tantamount to murder.
